Sacrifice: an act of giving up something valued for the sake of something else regarded as more important of worthy.

The flowers are shown being watered from the tears of a crying eye. This water allows the flowers a chance at life, to grow and flourish. The struggle of the crying eye and the sacrifice is essential for the survival of the flowers. This is metaphorical for the idea that one must suffer/sacrifice for the growth and wellbeing of many.
Sacrifice is the road to selflessness.
Selfless: concerned more with the needs and wishes of other rather than one's own self.
Selflessness shows little concept of the "self," and differs the meaning of possession. Real fortune comes from the giving to others, rather than from the materialistic aspect or the act selfishness.

How does one capture the essence of pain?
one does not. one can not.
The essence of emotion is an intangible object, unable to be attained through picture or word. The true impact an emotion has on the mind, body and spirit, the cultivation of a feeling, is not a thing able to pin point.
Relevance of Emotion on the Sacrifice Relief Sculpture?
The emotion portrayed in my relief sculpture will need to be very carefully and accurately displayed. Pain plays a large role in sacrifice/charity virtue that I am trying to convey, and it will need to be displayed effectively in my sculpture.

Importance of the Ear

Importance of Sacrifice and Selflessness to Me
The wholeness of oneself, the complete peace, does not come from the material. The wholeness of oneself only comes about when there is a unity internally. This internal unity alters the external reality. The brain is rewired. Once the self is complete, joy comes from within it radiates it reverberates to those around. The notion of "me" fades away. The ears swell listening, understanding the cries, the cries for help. In the act of giving there is no expectation of a "payback," no need for a "thank you." In the act of sacrifice I fade away The virtue of putting others before the self. The duty as the individual to the masses. The importance of one's contribution to the whole. This is the key to community. This is the key to a peaceful outer reality, A peaceful existence. The realization of the importance, the comprehension of the connection. |
